Going to take an nte931 (7805?) if I can find one to use is as part of a dc-dc ps for my Chumby. Then the Chumby will be truly portable.

The avi files on my camera are way to large. might use the following to squish them down into ogv format. Did this once before and it took an over 200 meg file and compressed it to under 6 megs.

Step 1, convert AVI to MPEG file :
Open a terminal and type this command line :
ffmpeg -i theoriginalfile.avi -b 100000k -ab 128k -ar 44100 thenewfile.mpeg

Step 2, now convert the MPEG file to an OGV file :
Open a terminal and type this command line :
ffmpeg2theora thenewfile.mpeg

Started playing with recordmydesktop. Very interesting.

One program I am beginning to like is jNetMap. Originally I think it was just a java only version. Now it is at least for Debian a packaged version. Great way to see what is on your network especially for newbies like me..
