Hi,

I am wintering in Florida and remodeling our new winter home. Hiring as much as possible since I bought here to vacation not do daily work on a house. Labor not as cheap as I was told. Finding reputable contractors is tough.

Hi,

Cold front coming through has cooled down the area for a deserved relief from the 3 digit heat. Nice out! I think that I will wait a few hours to let the dew dry off then play a round of golf today. I can not mow until the lawn dries out since I bag my clippings.

I miss being on the farm but I do like the luxury of my work load being a lot less these days. Sure, I would be baling hay for the horse and storing for the winter feed. Keeps you fit but does wear on you...

Hi,

Summer days of July/Aug in Central Illinois are miserable at times with heat index in triple figures. I play in the senior summer league and we tee off at noon. Shows how smart we are in old age.

Sure it's nice in early spring or late fall but when the heat index gets high then things can get dangerous. I drink at least 4-6 bottles of water per round and everyone teases me for drinking so much water. Still I can have some problems, at times I sweat so bad that I cannot stand...

Finally getting some beautiful weather here in Central Illinois. I told my wife, that we will be leaving for Florida in late Oct/16 and not returning until May/17. See said, 'We've got a lot of work for the new home in Florida. I said, 'I am not going to Florida to work all the time'. I will do what can be done and hire what I can no longer do physically. Extended winter Vacations!!!

Hi,

Officially, my wife and I are now Florida homeowners!! Closed on the property this mourning. I think we will be leaving in Oct/16 and not returning until late April/17. Right now it's cold outside and chance of rain later in the week. Spoke to a friend in Florida this mourning and it's in the mid 70s', expecting to get to the mid 80s' today. We've got a great community in Florida with loads of activities. Keep the wife busy, while I golf!!
