hiding the GUI of an application

Posted 06-03-2011 at 02:11 AM by neonsignal

The GUI of an X windows application can be 'hidden' by creating a dummy frame buffer:
Code:
Xvfb :display-number -screen 0 1x1x8
This frame buffer can then be used to run the application:
Code:
DISPLAY=:display-number application
