My misery with gnome3

I have tried to love this thing called gnome3. I liked gnome "2" on whatever distro it was running on. Gnome 3 feels like it does not allow me to do almost anything. This thing has control over me not me over it. I can't even hibernate out of the box and need to look for an extension silly just for such a function. Suspend turns my monitor off, drives become quiet, and lights continue to blink. Imagine if cars came without a steering wheel and you would need an extension for that. Hibernate is a crucial piece to a computer as a steering wheel to a car. Ok, true you still can use your computer unlike your car without a steering wheel but it is crippling in doing so. I fail to see how removing some important things and make them extensions is good. I tried to like it and ran gnome 3 for a good while.

I also at that time have used kde4 and I feel the control is in my hands. Perhaps, the target audience for gnome3 is not for that of kde4. Funny as kde4 was supposed to be for windows users but it is far advanced now for everyone to use and enjoy. Gnome3 on the other hand even the terminal is some steps away and I'm by no means a power terminal user. I do like to occasionally see debug info and install info on the command line. On ubuntu the terminal had to placed into unity for ease. I'm seeking a kde4 distro because I'm not as simple as gnome3 is. I think it is so simple; that simple is an insult to the "simple" word.

I'm using my weekend in trying to find a distro with polished kde4 I'm downloading kubuntu now. Because linux is awesome at least I have a choice to see what fits me and top of that rock solid underhood. Just I need to get the desktop in order after realizing that gnome3 is not for me. I don't just turn on my computer to browse the web I do more.
