HP 2133 Mini-note PC crunching along just fine with Ubuntu

Posted 03-29-2013 at 04:42 PM by flshope

After about a month since I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (overwriting SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10) on my HP 2133 Mini-note PC, I can report that the machine has not crashed once with Ubuntu. Under SUSE, it crashed several times during on a session. If you have one of these machines with SUSE (a vendor installation) and yours crashes repeatedly, I recommend you consider installing Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. The process is a standard installation from an external DVD drive (I have an LG GP40, which is plug and play). Be sure to set the USB port as the first boot device under the set-up program.
