Worked On Many Other Projects

Posted 03-23-2023 at 10:46 PM by des_a

I got tired of "just working on my new machine". I started to begin to work on a few other projects. One of them, was my squid blocking program again. Stuck there too, but NOT posting yet, as I want to focus on a few problems at once.

New Release of PNF

Posted 02-21-2023 at 03:56 AM by des_a

I now have a new release of PNF. Everything but the high level language is updated. What it is now: A fully functional structured, "functional" language, like C. What I want it to be for the next step? A language more similar but different to C++. I would like to add the capability of object oriented programming. Why haven't I? It's trickier than I thought!

Setting Static IP on Raspberry Pi

Posted 08-08-2021 at 06:43 PM by des_a

I fought and fought with the Raspberry Pi, trying to set a static IP. I really wanted it to have a static reservation on the DHCP server, like everything else. But, there is [a bug???] in the software that won't get any DHCP address, if you set a static reservation for it.

So the answer to set a static IP? It turned out to be simpler than I thought, but it took me awhile to figure out. Assuming it is a IPv4 address, here is what you do.

Modify rc.local to add a line...

PNF

Posted 07-21-2021 at 01:05 AM by des_a

I've been working on my language(s) again. Now I should be able to do anything you can in C. I'm liking the progress on my high level language (PNFHA), especially.
