Not getting anywhere with MadWifi

Posted 01-23-2009 at 10:00 PM by ctroyer

Downloaded madwifi-0.9.4 from sourceforge - read the README and INSTALL files, did make and make install - but there seems to be no ath_pci module for modprobe to load. Hmmm.

Went to madwifi.org to look for the wiki. Couldn't find it, but did find lots of hints that the sourceforge version of the code is obsolete. So I went to a mirror site for the 'latest' snapshot. That file was madwifi-20060331. Sounds older than madwifi-0.9.4, but what the heck. Tried compiling it, but just got piles of error messages.
I did look in /usr/src/linux-2.6.21.5/ for the .config file, and verified that all of the necessary options are enabled. So that bit is good.
Anyone find any sensible guidance on the madwifi project?
