Stuff that breaks...

Why does all my stuff break? I know I'm not the pinnacle of gentleness but I see other people treating their stuff a hundred times worse and WORKS JUST FINE. Guys on Youtube dropping their *$*&$*& laptops on &*^$#$% purpose and they WORK JUST FINE. Why can't I do that?

Just had a pair of Dynex headphones break. Sure, they aren't brand new (my mom gave them to me) but seriously, wtf. THey have no physical damage whatsoever. They look BRAND NEW.

I have a MacBook Pro. Took a TWO FOOT drop. Not that high. Still a huge scratch and a broken DVD drive. I mean, the broken speaker -- my fault. My fault for trying to open it up and fix it myself. But WTF, TWO FEET?

Before that had a Acer Aspire One D250-1026. Before 5 months were up, I had a 'ghost' ethernet card (work sometimes, wouldn't work others), and a battery that wouldn't hold a charge. The power charger broke too. Two of them.

My HP Pavilion (though I was like 11 when I had it) dv6000us had 4-5 missing keys, a partially ruined LCD, a misaligned DVD drive and BOTH ADAPTERS BROKE.

My TV, not of any fault of my own -- I hardly ever even watch the damn thing -- has a blue tinted screen. WHY? I DID NOTHING TO IT. NOTHING. It just sat there on my *&^$(*& table doing nothing. never even moved. Blue tint is so heavy I can't even enjoy TV -- even marginally. I've had countless dressers break on me.

Even other stuff too -- my phone is acting weird and stuff... Why does all this crap have to happen to me. Sure, I can replace the headphones for pretty cheap, but I just don't understand why stuff always breaks on me.

Maybe when I get a job (Wal-mart is taking FOREVER to reply -- they guarantee a reply even if you got denied) I'll get this laptop:

	If you really want to test if it's just you, try dropping an SNES or washing an N64 memory card. I can't vouch for the Wii, but all of Nintendo's products are generally really tough. If you can break one of those from a normal drop, then you really are cursed.

	Haha, that's true. I have had a few Nintendo products and they seem to make it through everything. Too bad Nintendo doesn't make any Linux-based laptops.

	You may have the curse or as they say about a friend of mine be A Wooly Burger. He can tear up an anvil with a rubber hammer. If it is just your electronics that give you a problem then it may be their environment. A lot of mine were short lived back when I had no air conditioning and had the windows open with fans to cool. The humidity plays havoc with connections and moving parts.

I can attest to this. I was once on a beach trip and I had brought my Nintendo DS with me (mostly for the road trip there), and I had forgotten to take it out of my pocket when we got there.

I never went in the water, but it sure did get tons of sand in it...when I first discovered this, it wouldn't work at first when I tried to turn it on, but after a while (actually it was on the way back from the beach) it came back to life!

Backlights wouldn't work at first, but those came back too after a while.

Hasn't had any problems since (but then again, I haven't played it in a while, so...

It isn't just electronics though, I seem to have problems with all kinds of stuff. I really do try. I concentrate, I slow down, I be as careful as I can, and yet stuff just breaks -- sometimes with no logical reason at all. Perhaps I need to make some sort of routine when dealing with things to ensure every time I use it I avoid problematic situations.
