Internetless

Due to a 'phone line fault, I (and others in this area) have been without internet and landline 'phone for about a week. Shut off from civilisation. Thrown back into the Dark Ages. Anyway, it's fixed now, just before the withdrawal symptoms were getting unbearable.

I'm spoiled.
I will be losing Internet this coming weekend. I bet it is a server upgrade or something/
I will be online though that day with the wifes jetpack
That her work place gave her for her job that weekend.
Like I said. I am spoiled.
We even have free wifi at the Dairy Queen parking lot while eating a banana split.Posted 08-18-2014 at 09:36 PM by rokytnji -
You get no sympathy from me. I had to go without an internet connection for ten months, because the campus I was living on uses software that will only allow Windows to use the local network. I had to take my computer to a cafe every time I wanted to use the internet. You have it easy.
@ rokytnji
If you take your computer to an ice cream outlet, you have a problem my friend.Posted 08-19-2014 at 07:15 PM by Randicus Draco Albus -

I have gone to extreme lengths to avoid being "internet-less", to the point of paying for unlimited data with my mobile carrier + 2 separate ISPs setup with ECMP on my home router.
Not even I bring my computer when ice cream is involvedPosted 08-19-2014 at 08:42 PM by rocket357 -
Its a toughbook with a water proof keyboard. Kid proof and Biker proof.
Fits in the saddlebags. I have 2 batteries that are cherry.

AntiX flys on the ssd I threw in it. Maxed at 2 gig of ram.
Icecream made me the 6 foot 7 inch 270lb Biker I am. Among other things.
So not a problemo for me.Posted 08-19-2014 at 09:13 PM by rokytnji -

When you stand you are 5'8". When you sit on the motorcycle you are 6'7".
Off the cycle you are 140lbs and on you are 270.
So the motorcycle seat is about four feet above the ground and the cycle only weighs 130lbs?Posted 08-20-2014 at 06:39 PM by Randicus Draco Albus -
Think you're a little confused there.

Just got in from my daily bicycle workout.
I have a
Roadmaster Granite Peak 26" Men's Mountain Bike,
That I picked up from the Thrift store for 10 bucks that I had to fix up myself.
So far I have about $40.00 invested in it with new kevlar tires and self sealing innertubes.
The bike is too small for me though. I feel like a monkey crouching over a football when I ride it.
But my legs need the burn. I am trying to keep in shape so to speak.
Next bicycle I will save up for that is bigger will be a Beach Cruiser Fixie
That will fit my body better I would think. The other model I am contemplating is this one.
I live in a small one horse town so a fancy high speed road cruiser would be a waste here and I need something that resists going flat from the goat head thorns and beer bottle glass sprinkling the roads here.
Just so you guys know. I just don't ride just motorcycles. I am still a 12 year kid in my head though I look like this.
The motorcycles may not make me taller. But the girls sure think I am prettier when I am riding one.Posted 08-21-2014 at 11:20 AM by rokytnji
