...and I quote ...

It is possible to fail in many ways...while to succeed is possible only in one way.

...and I'm looking for that way.

Okay, so, where am I now? Still in RAM. Now, I'm using Knoppix as my workhorse. Finnix, does not seem to have the Make util...

But, to compile the Kernel (ah, today was the outage due to a security breach, real scary), I needed a source package, fair enough, I had one, a 2.6.34. Granted, a bit stale on the edges, but still.
Reason was that I wanted a custom kernel for the current system, rarther than just copying one...
In the end, after two hours of make, it came back with "LZMA not found" - a part of p7zip.
Just installed Lynx to do a web search for it, installed it ... and restarted the Make.
Then a make install, and then a make for the grub...
Hopefully done by...whenever...
Then, I'll copy everything to disk.
The Fstab has been tweaked to mount the /dev/sda4 to /home, and /dev/sda1 to /boot on the sda3...
Once this thing runs without CDrom, I'll set up a user and get on with it...

I need a girlfriend....

Soon...
