where the hell is cheese? one more reason not to use linux

I am trying to install cheese in RHEL5.4 from 18 days now and no luxk.
If linux is really an operating system to save time and money for business then thats a big lie.
It is not just me all around the world(just google it)nobody seems to know how to compile cheese or even install it.
Tried all versions of rpm but it always ends up with dependencies which can never be resolved, it is just an endless loop.
Finally tried to download the tarball and tried to compile it..oh my god gcc was missing..ok i installed it.
then it wanted me to install the latest intltool 4.0 ok i found it and installed it.
now when i tried ./configure

No package 'gobject-2.0' found
No package 'gio-2.0' found
No package 'gtk+-2.0' found
No package 'gdk-2.0' found
No package 'gnome-desktop-2.0' found
No package 'gconf-2.0' found
No package 'gstreamer-0.10' found
No package 'gstreamer-plugins-base-0.10' found
No package 'cairo' found
No package 'dbus-1' found
No package 'dbus-glib-1' found
No package 'pangocairo' found
No package 'librsvg-2.0' found
No package 'libcanberra-gtk' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables CHEESE_CFLAGS
and CHEESE_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.
THIS IS UTTER WASTE OF TIME.
TOMORROW IN A BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT IF SOMEBODY HAS TO WAIT FOR 18 DAYS TO INSTALL AN APPLICATION ......they will surely go for microsoft.
If i try installing from rpm, following dependancies are missing and i cannot find them anywhere else and even if i try installing rpm packages containing them they are dependant on something else and that something else is dependant on something else.
May be this is the reason whey all known repos dont have cheese in their list.
by the way i am using dag wieers rpmforge.
somebody told me that it is included in the fedora amusement package repo but how can i add it !!!NOBODY KNOWS..
my god.
before i committ suicide and blame it on linux in my suicide not plz help me.

Don't expect computer to do everything for you.
Linux is a system where you learn to think before you type. It's a system that is here to unleash the power of computers. And bring you understanding of what is going on.

I can understand you got used to windows glowing buttons, GUI installers and applications, installed in binaries, also having the same standard libraries taken with them into the application install path, when almost every other application has the same libraries brought with them.... It wastes your disk resources. In linux you install those libraries globally. Of course, you can still use a windows-like scheme with libraries in program directory.
What's the problem with dependencies there? You don't know how to work with RPMs or it's a nasty bug(I had that trouble in Debian Lenny when was trying to install xfce 4.6 instead of 4.4 one, coming with Lenny and finally decided to build it from scratch)?
Did you asked this on forum?
Did you use a "-dev" - versions of packages(ones that contain header files, required to compile your application with corresponding libraries)?

This will never happen in a business environment because there will always be at least one competent engineer per business. In a true business environment employees do not install any software themselves.

Your complaint is about a very, very serious Linux problem, but as is it is totally wrong. If you do not know how to install software neither for Linux in general nor for Fedora in particular, then it is not a Linux problem, you know. However, the fact that you have to know how to do that reveals a critical flaw.

The real problem is that in Linux there should be somebody between the user and the developer. If the middle man is eliminated, then Linux will be less good - less flexible, less efficient, less reliable - it will be just like Windows. If it is declared that the user herself should be that middleman, then Linux will not scale - one person can do only that much. If your community is appointed to be the middleman, as it is assumed quietly with most distributions, then you will have to follow the rules of your community - choose wisely, so many distros exist for a reason. No really good option is found yet. Visit distrowatch and see for yourself - no distro has ALL key components current.

This said, if you use a distro that does not install the compiler by default, what do you hope for?
