How i came to know about Linux?

Once i went to Uncle's home for practicing Windows Applications, I saw a Computer Magazine which had Article about the New Operating System called Linux.I just ran through it.. And I saw a strange picture near the Article.
The picture depicted as the Windows Pack on the dustbin near the PC and Linux Penguin Pack on the Desktop.

I just Asked My Uncle About it, "What the Hell is this?"

Uncle said,"You may wondering why the Penguin is so demanded than the Windows"

"Certainly",I added.

Uncle said,"Its Kind of like Windows"

"Oh,Expensive than Windows?",I asked.

"Not much, because its only 0$",Uncle told.

"Then Uncle get a copy,we should try it", exclaimed I

"Its only belong to Professionals,Not people like us", Uncle told

From that day onwards..... i heard and saw a lot of information about the new Great coming Linux OS and the Sweden Boy Linus was every where on the Television talking about his child Linux.

I tried to get a copy. But Unfortunately it was very hard to get a copy like that from South India. Many people even disagree to support the new Linux OS because of the Low Hardware Detection.

Reading and Enjoying the Linux Distros on the pc magazines and its snapshots was one of my hobbies.Red Hat was on the Top on that days.Greenish Suse was second.and more and more distros.

Years Passed,One day my friend got a copy of Ubuntu and it was shipped and send Freely by Ubuntu directly itself .Sending a Accurate Application of Requesting 50 Ubuntu CDs was my Primary Aim after hearing it.3 Months Later A mail parcel from Foreign country came to my home.Like i expected it was The Ubuntu CDs.When i used it,i came to know that Ubuntu Linux Distro was A complete Desktop Operating System Like Windows.which means User Friendly. No doubt. No Problem with Hardware Detection. Everything was Fine. I love it. HO HO.

But the Ubuntu was Lack of GCC compilers and Mp3 and Video playing Codecs and My primary objective was to develop C,C++ and Java Applications,Hearing Musics, etc.
Manually have to download those things through Internet.
No internet connection with me on those days.I hardly Enjoyed it.

Bought a new Red Hat Linux 7.2(4CDs) from a Software Shop.
Happily Installed it Like the Ubuntu did.Beautiful themes by the KDE.Videos were Supported But Unfortunately Not My Realtek Sound Chip.

Oh My Creator.

I didnt give up.A Strong Mission started to search out
Solutions for the Sound Detection on Red Hat.

Various Linux Blogs helped me out to get a perfect link for the third party Linux based device drivers for my sound chip.i downloaded it.

The Hardest Part was to install it and to compile and to make the device drivers to the Kernel department. what this is all about???? HUh? oh my Uncle told me the linux belongs to the professionals. Now i Understood it. Because Installing the device drivers in Windows is like kind of Wizard. But here in Linux we gotta do it in Manual type...

Oh my Goodness.

Ok i did as the blogs said .Installed it,Compiled and Made it.
Between these process i saw A lot of characters running through my Monitor from up to down like Matrix Emulator Did.In fact it Was Beautiful to see it.Like Something Acheiving it or Cracking the Codes.

Success. I Successfully Installed the Realtek Sound driver into My Red Hat Linux 7.2 Kernel. It was the happiest moment in my life... Life as a Linux User.

From that i understand Linux belongs to me toooo... i didnt give up.
