64 bit bootstrap

I started my new machine using an existing 32bit Slackware installation disk. I got it running enough to ftp via a hardwired Ethernet cable to my old machine, copied the Slackware 64 bit ISO to the new machine and burned it on a DVD. Slackware64 only comes as a DVD, and my old machine could only burn CDs. I did a full install from the DVD in a second partition. It is important right from the start to use the ext4 filesystem (default on Slack64) and set the fstab option 'discard'. SSDs do internal...
