Patience 2
Looking forward to reading your experiences with this thing brian. I must admit this gizmo caught my eye when I first heard about it too.
Hope the delivery goes smoothly.Posted 08-09-2010 at 07:13 AM by GazL -

No, still waiting. There's evidently been quite a big demand for them. Shouldn't be long now...I hope, maybe next week sometime.Posted 07-24-2010 at 04:28 PM by brianL -

Looks like I'm going to have to wait for the SheevaPlug, from the website:
Quote:Note: We are receiving weekly shipments of both GuruPlugs and SheevaPlugs. However, because of the popularity of both products deliveries will be around 4 weeks from date of ordering. Please check this site regularly for updates.Posted 07-16-2010 at 05:35 AM by brianL -

Maybe this might be better: the Lenovo Skylight. Not available yet, though.Posted 07-09-2010 at 07:11 AM by brianL -
ARMed and Dangerous!
I've been googling for ARM based netbooks, and the only one I've found that's the size I'd want (10") is the HP Compaq AirLife 100, but it's only sold in the US. And I read a bad review of it. So it looks like we'll have to wait.
Here's the ARMedslack homepage, for anyone that's interested:

ARMed and Dangerous!
nice quite a recent kernel you have there.
I'm greatly interested in all ARM computers, so please post your experience with it when you'll got that device
BTW do you have any ARM-based netbook/etc? Maybe, planning to have one?
I'm looking for a nice netbook on ARM, but it's really hard to get one here in Russia, so I'm even begin to getting tired of this endless waiting so I'll probably just order one.Posted 07-09-2010 at 01:40 AM by Web31337 -
Gnome Again
I still have a preference for KDE, and fluxbox as far as lighter stuff goes. But GSB is OK for a change now and then. I'm not very adventurous these days, so I avoid betas and -current.Posted 06-29-2010 at 05:51 AM by brianL -
Gnome Again
I've found it handy in my enthusiasm for betas and rc's to have have at least one working environment to get the next great thing working when I break it! The GSB team really does do a nice job though. My laptop is full-time GSB.Posted 06-28-2010 at 07:24 PM by damgar -
Gnome Again
I like that attitude. Very uplifting.
No, really. It's good to see people who are not "dependent" upon environment. i have about four or five environments I use.Posted 06-13-2010 at 05:34 PM by Mr-Bisquit -
Snapping Again
Yeah, I had a SLR in my "gel" film days, but decided against a DSLR, because I didn't want all that carrying a bag full of lenses, and "shall I use a fixed focal length lens or a zoom" stuff again. That's progress, isn't it? Not always a good thing, but inevitable.Posted 06-03-2010 at 03:56 AM by brianL

You'd have to know what business the family was in. may have been possible for seamen.
I have two SLRs. One automatic and the other manual. Both use "gel" film. Monochrome always looks nicer. Some other models, such as the 720/120 types, had film with the reddish-brown tint. It's a shame that everything is going digital.Posted 06-02-2010 at 12:45 PM by Mr-Bisquit -
Think before you act, Brian!
Did the same thing recently with one of my FreeBSD desktop install. Took the fool's way of removing a directory and now, I have half a system.
And thanks for the comments.Posted 04-24-2010 at 06:40 PM by Mr-Bisquit -

No, it's not your fault. I accept 100% responsibility for ****ing things up. I've got a nasty habit of skimming through instructions, then doing what I think I've read instead of what I should have done.Posted 04-23-2010 at 03:41 AM by brianL -

I can't help, but feel a little guilty. I'll tone down my enthusiasm in the future.Posted 04-22-2010 at 11:32 PM by damgar
