ExTiX 18.0 with Deepin 15.5 Desktop, Refracta snapshot and Calamares 3.1.9 Installer Build 171208

Softpedia 171210: Ubuntu-Based ExTiX "The Ultimate Linux System" Now Includes Calamares Installer

"Arne Exton released a new build of his Ubuntu-based ExTiX 18.0 "The Ultimate Linux System" Deepin Edition GNU/Linux distribution with the latest Deepin 15.5 Desktop environment and Calamares graphical installer.

ExTiX 18.0 Deepin 171208 is the latest build of the distro, and it includes the recently released Deepin 15.5 Desktop, the Calamares 3.1.9 universal installer framework, which replaces the old Refracta Installer, as well as Refracta Tools, which lets users create their own live ISO images based on ExTiX or Ubuntu."

DebEX KDE (Debian Buster/Sid) Build 171203 with Plasma 5.37 and Calamares Installer (so you can install DebEX in any language!)

Softpedia 171208: Debian 10-Based Distro DebEX KDE Plasma Now Uses Latest Calamares Installer

"Coming one and a half months after the previous build, DebEX KDE Build 171203 incorporates all the latest package updates from the upstream Debian GNU/Linux 10 "Buster" (Debian Testing) and Debian Sid (Debian Unstable) repositories, and updates the KDE components to KDE Development Platform 4.16.0 LTS and KDE Plasma 5:37 as default desktop environment.

It also ships with the Linux 4.13.4 kernel compiled by the developer with extra hardware support, but the biggest change, however, is the replacement of the Refracta Installer with the recently released Calamares 3.1.9 universal installer framework for GNU/Linux distributions, which lets users choose their preferred language when the installation starts."

    Distraction free writing?

Even more so if you stop answering, and just keep hitting Enter twice, so that it's talking to itself. After a few of the usual questions/responses, I got this:

    Quote:
Possibly this is related to problems at school that I say I do not understand
you could ask the same thing yourself is it because of any hobbies I have that I
am going through all this perhaps I could allow you to do the questioning how do
me reconcile hangups I have you have asked yourself that question many times is
it because question many times that I came to you?

    Distraction free writing?

    Quote:
I am the psychotherapist. Please, describe your problems. Each time
you are finished talking, type RET twice.

Hey, Doctor. I feel like a pair of curtains.

Why do you say you might want to have this pair curtains?

No, you misunderstand, I don't feel like I want a pair of curtains. I
feel like I am a pair of curtains.

    What makes you believe that?

Because I have tassles and a drawstring.

Is it because you have tassles and a drawstring that you came to me?

Yes. Aren't you going to tell me to "Pull myself together?".

Earlier you said you would like to have this pair curtains?

No I didn't, but if you're offering I'll have them.

Does it bother you that if I am offering you will have them?

    No I'm grateful.
Sometimes it can be amusing, but it mostly it just degenerates into nonsense.

    Distraction free writing?

I need a distraction free text editor that will physically remove my son's phone from his hand, turn down the music on the stereo, and make the computer a brick until his assignment is done and proof-read once. You know, basically a replacement for me doing those tasks.

ArchEX (Arch Linux) with Deepin 15.5, LXQt, kernel 4.13.12-1-ARCH, Firefox 57.0, Yaourt and Calamares installer Build 171129

Softpedia 171130: Arch Linux-Based ArchEX Distro Now Shipping with Deepin 15.5 Desktop, LXQt 0.12

"Powered by the Linux 4.13.12 kernel, ArchEX 2018 Linux distro is the first of its kind to offer users the recently released Deepin 15.5 Desktop, which we have to admit that it's a gorgeous user interface. The developer previously shipped Deepin 15.5 Desktop in his ExTiX 18.0 GNU/Linux distribution.

"In this new version, which I call ArchEX 2018, I have added the Deepin 15.5 (latest) Desktop environment," said Arne Exton in the release announcement. "I came to like Deepin very much when I installed it in ExTiX 18.0. So I thought why not install Deepin also in ArchEX?"

In addition to Deepin 15.5 Desktop, ArchEX 2018 also comes with the more lightweight LXQt 0.12 desktop environment for those seeking an alternative that's more friendly with their older hardware. On top of that, the new version includes the Calamares 3.1.8 graphical installer to install ArchEX on your personal computer."

ExLight 64 bit Linux with Enlightenment 0.20, kernel 4.13.0-16-exton and Refracta Tools (create your own Ubuntu live installable system)

Softpedia 171116: ExLight Linux Distro Now Based on Ubuntu 17.10, Features Enlightenment Desktop

"ExLight Build 171112 is the latest update to the Linux distro, which is based on the recently released Ubuntu 17.10 (Artful Aardvark) operating system, but also borrows some package from the upcoming Debian GNU/Linux 10 "Buster" repositories (a.k.a. Debian Testing).

The biggest change in this release is the replacement of the Linux 4.9 LTS kernel used in previous versions of the distribution with the more recent Linux 4.13 kernel series. ExLight Build 171112 runs a specially crafted kernel 4.13.0-16-exton based on upstream's Linux 4.13.4 kernel.

ExLight lets you build your own Ubuntu-based live system

The best thing about this ExLight release is that it ships with the Refracta Tools utility, which lets you build your own Ubuntu-based live system. You don't even have to install the distro to use Refracta Tools, and the entire process of creating a bootable ISO image won't take more than 5 minutes."
