Getting error "disagrees about version of symbol struct_module" while inserting the module

Posted 02-21-2008 at 05:56 AM by kamlendu

Hi,

I have booted a ppc board with linux-2.6.23.9 kernel, and I am trying to insert a module
"h264_driver.ko".

But while doing insmod, it gives:

-sh-2.05b# insmod h264_driver.ko
h264_driver: disagrees about version of symbol struct_module
insmod: error inserting 'h264_driver.ko': -1 Invalid module format
-sh-2.05b#

I have made sure that, I have used the same kernel to build the module by which the board has been booted.

Can any one please help me regarding this.

Thanks in advance.
