My 2017 build failed at stage four with the grub install. I purposely avoided the MBR(/dev/sda)for a grub install because it would have wrecked my already multi-boot system.
Anyway, I have now booted my new basic AryaLinux by tweaking the existing grub. Can I now continue with ALPS etc and build Xorg, Q5, Gnome etc or is that it because of the failure? E.g. when I try to resume it shows the past failure.
Okay got it working, first with the build scripts alone and then with ALPS Had to create all the dir. required for ALPS. The only errors so far are when for some reason ALPS(or rather the script)fails to extract a package and says the format isn't recognised. If I download the package myself, extract and build, the whole things fine.
