New Arch ISO, can't run fresh mc

Hi. I have a strange problem which might be VirtualBox specific but maybe not... I got newest Arch ISO. Following some instructions I installed Arch on VirtualBox in Windows 7 just to try new setup method. Everything went well except mc which after installation refuses to run. I start it:
Code:
# mc
and cursor stalls on a new line untill I hit Ctrl+C. "htop" & "links" run OK but not "mc"/"mcedit". They both just stall. Why can this happen? I am concerned that it might happen on a real installation...

It doesn't happen on my Arch box. It runs just fine. Have you updated/upgraded?

Code:
su
pacman -Syyuu
pacman -S mc
If updating/upgrading is not desired (for some weird reason), then see this page.

Thanks. System was updated. But I got a chance to make an installation on a netbook and it works there so now it doesn't really matter.
