Question Making your own packages in Arch

Hi.

1. I am reading some Arch Wiki now and am wondering - so I can download source code of any GPL program and create my own installation package for Arch with PKGBUILD to install it with "pacman -U"?

2. What if I do so (if I can do so) and there will be other package with the same name in Arch repositories? How will the system behave if I try to "pacman -S" that package?

Yes, you can.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Creating_Packages

You should not name your packages the same as official packages and you'd want to change the any duplicate file names, or install your packages to a different directory, like /opt.
