List of programs for Arch Repo's?

Is there a list of all programs available for Arch, ex. office, games, utilities, etc? Something that just has the actual program. Also is there a list of all Linux (in general,) programs as well?

I found partial ones here and there. Nothing complete so far.

Official Arch packages are listed here:

http://www.archlinux.org/packages/?sort=pkgname

I know of no list of all linux applications - it would have to be huge if it ever existed. For example, debian alone has about 30,000 official packages and that doesn't include the many third party applications that have unofficial packages for debian, i.e their packages are not included in the official debian repositories.

Thanks. I saw this one. I was hoping for one categorized.

This might be a good starting point for you:

I assume you are just not that familiar with the linux equivalents of common windows programs. The above should help and see also:

http://www.linuxalt.com/

That will help give you the lay of the land. If you have questions about specific types of applications just open another thread and ask for advice. You will likely get a lot of spirited discussion about what people think is the best application for any given area. There's a lot of choice in linux and you just have to try out the various alternatives to see what you like. Ultimately, what works best is what works best for you. Over time, you will come to know what your preferences are and won't be so overwhelmed by all the choices available.

Thanks. These lists are perfect. I have been using Linux for sometime now. But I thought it was time to see what was out there, other then the traditional programs like Open Office, VLC, etc. These lists are perfect. I can find what I am interested in and then cross reference it with the one at the Arch wiki to see if it is in the Arch repos.
