I've used patches from AUR to get broadcom's wl driver to work properly on an ACER ES1-111m (with a bcm43142 wifi nic).

I has a really weird thing happen so you might want to read the following

I just picked out broadcom-wl/wl_linux.c.patch from broadcom-wl.tar.gz (off AUR) to patch broadcom's hybrid-v35_64-nodebug-pcoem-6_30_223_271 code and built that against kernel 4.4.1 from kernel.org.
The outcome was so weird I thought it might be a good idea to post it on the ARK linux subforum (solely because I picked the patch off AUR), did not want to offend anbody.
