Installing and upgrading Arch Offline

Hi Forum

Thing is this :

want to Install Arch in a box... I have an Arch 2009.8 x86_64 CD, as well as a snapshot of the whole repo in an external USB HDD, "wgot" last week:

/disk/MyRepo/ftp.yz.yamagata-u.ac.jp/pub/linux/archlinux/community/os/
/disk/MyRepo/ftp.yz.yamagata-u.ac.jp/pub/linux/archlinux/core/os/
/disk/MyRepo/ftp.yz.yamagata-u.ac.jp/pub/linux/archlinux/extra/os/

for <x86_64> and <any>

How do I run pacman -Syu against this snapshot...?

I have seen something similar in the ArchWiki but it is about upgrading from local server...

This is a repo in an USB disk...

Is it possible to do this...?

Never tried it, but according to the pacman.conf man page, it looks like you just need to set your mirror to something like

Code:

[core]
Server = file:///disk/MyRepo/ftp.yz.yamagata-u.ac.jp/pub/linux/archlinux/core/os/

and so on.
