So I have arch setup I managed to get the xfce but my major problem now is it works but only from a ethernet cable the wifi does not work. It's also a laptop. next I don't have any browsers. Which I did not even think about till just now.

So I was able to install firefox I had to use sudo but I thought there was I way I could use su. There are some trivial things that I really like that I can't figure out how to get back. Like the little packman guy eating when you download something. My ternamls black and green text. Thank God my sound works. I want the arch linux repository so I can search through I can download things via command line as I did for firefox but I don't have the front end to browse through. Still no wifi card trying to get that to work. at least getting that my life will be at least going in the right direction. Also I am running into sometihng strange where I can't see any youtube videos about 360p.

I have read and gone threw it twice. It seems like I have everything and yet I still can't get it. I must be just bad at this. I understand the arch wiki is amazing it has taken me far but it's like I have problems with so many basic things. I don't know how i am going to make it a week. The wifi is such a deal breaker. I feel like everyone is such a expert because they have everything memorized from the wiki and I'm having problems following the wiki.

Step by step and with perseverance you would learn and add experience. Linux should have been integrated and easy to use. But it's just a collection of softwares somewhat working together in some cases.

You need to list the steps you have taken and the exact errors resulting from these.

Based on what you have posted here, I would submit that Arch really isn't for you.

I reformatted several times tried different configurations I'm happy with a lot of stuff but not this card I'm starting to think it's not supported in arch but I have got it working in other distros. Currently running xfce and sim sound drivers 360p YouTube videos and using a Ethernet cable when I can until I get the wifi card up.

so I was going crazy over this wifi card. I am like I know i did this right but it refuses to work with the internal wifi card. So I decide to test it with my wifi usb adapter plugged in instantly worked. But yet I can't get it to work with the internal one.

unrelated I found out about yaourt and it changed my life ^_^

Hi I have the same chip as you have and this is what I did to get the wireless working!

I have tried for almost a week to fix this and you helped me fix this. Words can not describe my graditude and thanks. I imeaditately had to write a response telling you of the sucess I have with the card. Thank you so much. I can't say it enough. thanks to everyone in the thread as well.
