AMD hybrid support in Arch?

I'm a long-time Ubuntu user who is strongly considering switching to Arch or ArchBang. I've got a Computer Science degree, so I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty with manual configuration.

However, one of the things I've had the most problems with is finding GPU driver support. My laptop has a 6630M AMD/Sandy Bridge hybrid GPU.
I do a bit of graphics programming, and would like to tinker with Steam, so getting these drivers is important to me.

What is fglrx support like in Arch? Are there people who have gotten AMD/Intel powerXpress hybrid graphics working? Are there tutorials outlining how to do this?

I've looked, and the wikis contain no information about hybrid or powerXpress setups.

Thanks!

Hi,

I have successfully setup a laptop with dual graphics to work under arch. Mind you, "work" in its most basic form : only the integrated GPU is enabled, and only the Opensource drivers are involved. As far as Catalyst is concerned, Arch doesn't have fglrx in its main repo, but in AUR (sort of like a PPA). So fglrx support can be considered semi-official. They however do have great wiki entries (I guess you haven't looked hard enough ) : Arch Catalyst. In AUR there is a nice package : catalyst-total-pxp. This is a version of catalyst with powerexpress enabled. This should give you what you need. I haven't tried it.
