Uninstall it again, and take care not to break your system in the process.
Actually, if everything is working OK, do NOT uninstall it.

XFCE-Settings is part of MX Linux already. Just look in the menu, probably under Settings...

The xfce4-settings-manager shows a bunch of icons in a grid. One of them is labeled Desktop. Click it, you get a new window. Click the third Tab, might be labeled "Icons". Scroll down, it has checkboxes for which icons will be displayed on the desktop.

Please look at the attached file.
There's an icon called "Desktop" (somewhere in the upper right).

ahh ok so what window managers do you like on AntiX?

I don't use AntiX....but I have used a lot of WMs on Tinycore.
Altho in your OP you want ......a clickable icon on the desktop.....would a clickable icon in the file manager suffice?
after all....you must know you just inserted another storage device....so it makes sense to open it with a file manager unless its for media playing.

file manager=pcmanfm can automount removeable media...altho not tested on AntiX

file manager=spacefm ditto

Yes, I wanted a clickable icon on the desktop. But that is a dream. I installed krusader, this prog can handle mounted devices. And is able to unmount them.
