MX Linux cannot see second monitor

I am a newbie trying to get MX Linux to work. It works just fine except that I am not able to use my big screen monitor. I am using a Win10 laptop with an HDMI monitor attached. I am using MX-19.4.1_ahs_x64.iso as a live USB. I am able to find settings>devices>monitor setup. This only shows my laptop monitor and not the attached monitor. Is there a way to duplicate my laptop screen to the HDMI monitor?

It would be useful to get more definitive information about the graphics system...

Run these commands in a terminal and post the output here
Code:
xrandr
Code:
xinxi -Gxxx

xini - command not found

It looks like the HDMI monitor is not found. However, with my Win10 laptop, I have used the monitor for a few months now, so it does work with my laptop.

The command is "inxi". If it's not pre-installed or in the MX Linux repo, the homepage link is in post #6 of the thread where you asked this exact same question about PCLinuxOS last week:

Sorry, but I am trying to replace Windows with ANY Linux OS, but there are roadblocks to everything I try. I have used Windows for so long that I have actually grown to hate it, but I do know how to make it work for the most part. I will keep trying.

You need to make the effort to install it then.

The lspci reports Intel graphics (with i915 kernel driver), but we don't know which Xorg (DDX) driver is in use.
