MX 18 Picasa.

I have a 32bit .exe copy of Picasa install.

In Mint Cinnamon I installed Wine and Wine32, then Cd'ed the Download folder and ran "wine picasa.exe" and Picasa installed.

In Mx 18 I installed Wine and Wine32, then Cd'ed the Download folder and "wine picasa.exe" won't run.

How do I get it to install please.

PS I did run "winecfg"

Thanks for that.
I have installed the .deb file but when I try to run from the icon I get an error message saying I need a 32bit version of OpenSSL.
How do I do that please?

Ok, so the error message says you need a 32 bit version of openssl. Does it say what version?

What is the exact error message?

If Synaptic doesn't have libssl for 32-bit try using apt to install it.

IF apt can't install Openssl than you will have to build and compile it. You'll have to learn how to build and compile.
The "Install" file will tell you how to do it.

I'm sorry but I'm not sure if you only need the openssl library. There may be other libraries that are needed.

Thanks again. After a lot of playing about I finally get the Windows installer to run with "wine start picasa.exe". Picasa installed and ran automatically when the install finished. Great I thought, but having shut Picasa down I can't find an icon anywhere to run it, so I am stumped again.

How do I run it please?

Use the "locate" command in terminal to find Picasa.

Than double click on the icon. OR right click on the .exe and you should get a drop down menu.
Click on open with wine.

IF you still can't find it look here in the Wine Application data base:

Thank you for your patience but I have given up on this one, it is just taking up too much time. I found the picasa.exe file in the Wine folder but there was no option to run in Wine.

I want to use Picasa as, for me, it is the best image organiser, it opens all the images from various folders at the same time.

Sadly, much as I like MX I have gone back to Mint Cinnamon where Picasa instals without problems.

Double clicking should of launched the program.

I'm baffeled as to why it's not working. Only thing I can think of is libraries are missing which could be many.
