How to install MX Linux onto usb

I have debian OS and want to install MX Linux onto USB with persistence.
I used a website tutorial and installed the MX Linux .iso and then burned it onto the USB:
Code:

wget https://sourceforge.net/projects/mx-linux/files/Final/Xfce/MX-21_x64.iso

Downloads# dd bs=4M if=MX-21_x64.iso of=/dev/sdx status=progress oflag=sync

where 'sdx' is my actual USB (e.g. sdf).

On booting the USB - I have MX Linux 'demo'.
I think this is the MX Linux installer.
Do I now open the 'live-usb maker' app to install MX Linux onto a separate flash drive?

I like Ventoy as an alternative. It also allows multiple ISOs to be installed to USB sticks.

Begin where it says, "For Linux - GUI mode"

Just a simpler suggestion, IMO.

How to unzip a tar.gz file

The MX Linux Users Manual says:
Quote:

To begin, boot to the LiveMedium, then click on the Installer icon in the upper left corner. If the icon is missing, click F4 and enter: minstall-pkexec (root password on LiveMedium: root).

Oh yes, I found that quirk of MX irritating compared to antiX. Haven't used in a while. Another case of RTFM

You don't even need 2 sticks.
