[SOLVED] Network problem
Hi,
I've just installed Amigo Linux 2.0. I'm rather a newbie in terms of Linux, but I easily got through the expert X11 configuration. Then I ran netconfig and set everything for DCHP. I tried pinging a remote host to see if network works, but I just recieved an 'unknown host' message. Whereas under Zipslack 10.0 I don't even need to run netconfig to use the net... WTF? Is it because Amigo is based on Zipslack 9.1? My netcard is an Realtek RTL8029.
TIA,
Rookie One ( )

Open /etc/rc.d/rc.modules and look for the entry for your network card. uncomment the line by removing ther '#' at the start of the line. On next boot the module for your card will be loaded.

Well, thanks, but there is no entry for my netcard... I'm now looking through my zipslack 10.0's configs to see how the network is done there, maybe I'll find a solution.

Try to insert the text:
/sbin/modprobe rtl8029
in the file:
/etc/rc.d/rc.modules
Good luck!

I've found in the net that RTL8029 is a NE2k clone, which is on the list... I enabled it and now I'm writing these words from Amigo!
Thanks for help anyway!
