how to solve some centericq dependencies?

hello,
I'm traying to make centericq work on my amigo installation.
The first thing I did was download and install it (really??)
After that, the response to my "centericq" command was a missing *.so file; at this point there wasn't a problem: having the name of the missing file and google, there is no reason to worry.
That was how I discover my need to install openssl-solibs-0.9.7b-i486-2.tgz. not included by default in my amigo distro.
With such pkg installed, centericq opened, but only can log into icq, and not in msn ..in its status window the message "connetcting to msn... ...disconected" loops about 3 times, and then stops.
Then what I did was search in slackware.com>packages all pkgs related to openssl for slack9.1, download and install this ones:
openssl-0.9.7b-i486-2.tgz openssl-solibs-0.9.7b-i486-2.tgz
openssl-0.9.7d-i486-2.tgz openssl-solibs-0.9.7d-i486-2.tgz
..but still can't log into msn.
-just to be shure, I checked and re-checked my login name and passwd to msn, but everything is alright in there.
Then I went to centericq homepage to grab any dependency list, but it seems the only ones are that openssl libs..
I cannot be shure of, but "something" tells me it's a dependency problem, but -as it seems, I cannot resolve it.
(I also tryed with gaim, but it has moooore dependencies, and I prefer to solve one problem at a time)
Any idea? maybe I'm wrong with the dependencies stuff..
thanks in advance

First of all, don't install various versions of the same package. Install the standard openssl-solibs for slackware-9.1.
Then from the command line try to run the program and take note of the errors, or even better browse to the directory where the centericq binary is and do 'ldd centericq', which will give you a complete list of what libraries it uses.

Then, you can download and unzip this into /usr/local/bin:
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/...ts/whichpkg.gz

Download a copy of the Slackware-9.1 MANIFEST:
ftp://ftp.slackware.at/slackware-9.1...e/MANIFEST.bz2

Use 'whichpkg' to show which package contains the missing libs.
There may also be binary dependencies which don't show up using ldd.
A look through the slackware forum may help you more -I've never tried to run centericq.

gaim is available as a regular slackware package also.

hi.. sorry about the long delay in answer..I was busy this week..

nice cmd that "ldd" ..I didn't knew it
about your procedure recipe: there's no error log since the app open 'normally' (but msn do not log-in) ..the ldd shows there's not missing dependencies.. don't know if there's binaries dependencies. (must say I didn't used the whichpkg..no time to do so)
One 'curious' thing is that I've tryied to log-in to msn thru a web based client (e-messenger.net) and it didn't work.. then I reboot and tryied same web client using another S.O., and there was no problem to log-in ..
gonna try gaim .. if it also cannot log in msn, maybe there's something wrong with ports..or bays.. rivers, boats, or...

regards,
