Hey Gnashley, what happened to being able to download Amigo as a zip file?
 

I have Amigo 2.0 on another box, but I was looking for an update to Amigo, and I have no easy way (yet) to transfer the zip to the other box I am going to use strictly for Amigo, except it will still have Windows for some purposes. Just wondering were I can find a download. Thanks a million, hackerarchangel.

Not long ago I was still able to find copies on several mirros. But right now I don't find the links and the search engines don't find them. I suppose the mirrors finally refreshed more completetely. Let me see what can be done...

Sorry I didn't explain better. In the interest of better GPL conformance, I removed all the former material from the official Amigo site at ibiblio.

is this your own flavor of linux? did you modify the source for a specific purpose?

Amigo2 and AmigoXP were/are built around a standard Slackware base system, with extra programs added to comprise a light-weight desktop.
Amigo2 has a couple of modified programs used during hardware setup.
AmigoXP was a prototype distro and includes a lot of software that I didn't compile, plus a few programs modified for auto setup.

Now, on my own site, you'll always find the sources for any binary which is there, whether the sources are modified or not. Many of the tarballs on my site are repackaged for uniformity using .tar.bz2 format. Any sources which have been modified in any other way are well documented. Some programs needed configuration changes to make them compile which are not always documented -removing old cache directories, rerunning aclocal or autoconf, etc.
Usually anything that I have modified the sources to is found in my Projects area -stuff that I intend to maintain or continue to develop.
There are a few programs which needed small changes to the sources to compile under Linux or with modern kernel sources. These will usually have an 'afx' suffix to the minor or micro version number: gpart-0.1afx

Look around in my projects area for sources I am working on. The AFX-ROX-Filer and RTFM are probably my best efforts so far with C and GTK-1.2.

A lot of the sources on my site have a Resources directory where you may find extra patches or tips for compiling, etc. And the PkgBuild scripts are useful, even if you don't use them. They show anything different about configuring, compiling or packaging.
