hal.dll missing

I am attempting to boot into Amigo within a fresh install of Windows XP on NTFS.

I ran the install.bat and rebooted.

Amigo came up as a boot option.

When selecting Amigo I got the error that hal.dll is missing in \system32\.

Is it an error in the boot.ini that causes this?

hi there

hal.dll is a file which is responsible fro the environment of the windows oprating system

in ur case i think it has corrupted and it has nothing to do with boot.ini

when i used to get these erros then i reinstalled my windows

but somewhere on this forum i read that if u boot from a winXp cd and go to just the recovery console from there ,and just reboot after u have dropped to ur recovery console,ur corrupted file may be fixed I haven't tried this

That can't be it though.

If I select to boot into windows, windows starts up fine. If I select Amigo if gives me the hal.dll error.

This is on a fresh install of windows xp, for the purpose of testing Amigo.

hi there

the if ur amigo uses a hal.dll that might be corrupted which may be having a difernt copy of hall.dll
or do one thing copy the hal.dll from windows xp ,system32 directory and put that in ur amigo files

frankly i have't used amigo but since i saw ur problem of hal.dl i chipped in to help u out

Your windows is not hurt, since boot.ini is the only thing touched. Run uninstal.bat and then install.bat again. Should work. Sometimes the grubinstaller doesn't work just right.
