Amigo on External Drive


How can I run Amigo on an external hard drive?

Which Amigo version are your running and what kind of drive do you mean?

I am running Amigo 2.0 and using a usb2.0/firewire ext. hard drive. I am operating the ext hard drive by usb. i have amigo on a FAT file sys. 2 GB partition. I am a little confused on how to get it running. Any help will be appreciated. me =

Sorry, Amigo1 and Amigo2 won't easily run from USB. In your case, you might try booting with the boot floppy for RUNT Linux. Use the older version for Amigo1.

It would be better if you were using Amigo2 for this.

Amigo-XP will quite easily do what you want. My current work involves optimizing usage from external devices -not as easy as it sounds.

Did you try that? If you have AMigo properly unzipped onto the external drive, just boot with the RUNT linux floppy. It contains a small initrd image which should find your drive and mount it as type umsdos. Don't expect great performance running this way.
