windows 2003 and AIX 4.3

hello,

I have windows 2000 server acting as a mail and active directory server. also i have AIX 4.3 server as a data base server using oracle in it

latly i am tring to upgrade my windows 2000 server to windows 2003 server. i installed and configured as dummy domain once i connect the network plug to our internal network the pinging to our AIX server gives time out and the listner stops. else every thing in my network is working fine

do any one faced this problem before
hope if any advice in this feild

@nwagih : did you ping to the IP address or to the name ?
This looks obviously as a hardware or software network configuration.
Are you able to ping another system on that network ?

I ping the IP
yes i am able to ping all the windows operating systems only the database unix server is the one which gives me time out when pinging it's IP

And is your netmask the same : 255.255.255.0 on both the Unix and the Windows systems ? And are them on the same sub-network ?
