shutdown with a not root user

hy , sorry for my bad english, i have a question, in our infrastructure a not root user must be able to shutdown the system, can anybody help me '???

Try typing:

Code:

$ /sbin/shutdown

in a terminal as user. It should work

...Only a user with root authority can shutdown an AIX system. (Per shutdown's man page)

I would look into possibly installing sudo and then have a user run: `sudo shutdown` however, this requires the password of root to work. Shrug, your pretty stuck here, it does not make sense to allow a normal user to shutdown a server...so only root can do it.
