Setting ulimits
What is the best way to set ulimits on Aix?

the best way would be to set this in

smitty user
This way is an easy and transparent way to set limits for each user.

However if you'd like to change the default limits that apply for everyone not listed in /etc/security/limits separately, I'd say just edit the default stanza in /etc/security/limits. I'm sure there is a command for it, but I can't find it at the moment.

the command is "chuser". usually, you run "lsuser username" first to check the parameters. then run "chuser <parameter> username".
example, to change the hard limit for filesize:

chuser fsize_hard=-1 username

the file /etc/security/limits should then reflect the changes.
