Resolve RPM dependencies automatically

Hi!

I try to install cfengine on AIX with the packages from perzl.org. I downloaded all the AIX packages, put them into a directory, added the directory as lpp_source and tried to run the installation via nim. But nim doesn't seem to resolve the depencies and because the dependencies have other dependencies it's really uncomfortable... Is it just the way it is in AIX or do I make something wrong?!

Best regards,
Frank

Nope, that sounds about normal for AIX.
I've been through it many times.
Install app rpm and it fails.
Download the dependencies and try again.
It fails again with more dependencies on dependencies.
Download them and try again.
Try and try again, you'll get there...
1. Then when you run your app it may fail again with more.
Download and install them and try again.
Then it'll fail again so you'll have to start again and install the whole lot at once for it to work, or - go to 1.
HTH, keep at it, you'll get there in the end - or die trying ;0)
