reducevg on spanned physical disks

Hi,

I would like to remove a physical volume built on a LUN associated with a Raid5 RaidGroup, but I got the message "0516-884:reducevg:unable to remove physical volume hdiskpower1". In fact the log file loglv00 of the VG is spanned on three physical volumes hdiskpower1, 2 and 3.
What could be the simplest way to remove the physical disks.

Thanks for help

you need to remove the logical volumes on hdiskpower1 before doing a reducevg.

first - BACKUP your data

to move hdiskpower1 partitions used by loglov00:

migratepv -l loglv00 hdiskpower1 hdiskpower2 hdiskpower3

this will move loglv00 partitions on hdiskpower1 to hdiskpower2 and hdiskpower3

migratepv hdiskpower1 hdiskpower2 hdiskpower3

to remove all logical volumes in hdiskpower1 to *power2 and *power3.

hdiskpower2 and hdiskpower3 MUST have enough free partitions to accommodate loglv00 LPs from hdiskpower1.

once migratepv is completed, check hdiskpower1:

lspv -l hdiskpower1

if it doesn't have anything on it, do the reducevg.

hth.
