ISCSI Implementation in AIX 6.1

Hi,

Is it possible to implement iscsi by using linux RHEL6.0 target server & aix 6.1 Initiator? I have tried but it is bit implemented in my aix server. I detect the hdisk & also I can make file system for that hdisk but I was not able to do vg in that hdisk. please help me?

What's the error returned by mkvg? Is anything iSCSI related shown in the error log?

A cursory search brought up, this, which indicates that the iSCSI target on RHEL doesn't support a SCSI command AIX uses when creating a VG. Can you create a filesystem directly on it? If so that sounds like your issue.

Page 89 of this book will help you decode the errors:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/system...pdf/234329.pdf

SS says it's a "Device check condition"

PPQQ is the ASC/ASCQ which says "INVALID COMMAND OPERATION CODE"

So t looks like you asked the disk something and it didn't understand.
