how to check fs users


Dear friends,

Pls tell me the command to check the current users of nfs mounted filesystems and local filesystems..

For users of local filesystems you can use 'fuser -cu /some/directory/or/filesystem'. This will return a list of the processes and owners in the format of 'PID(OWNER)'.

You should be able to do this for NFS mounts where you are on the client. I'm not sure if there is a way to tell on the NFS server who is in what NFS shared filesystem.

check lsof. You can install lsof from AIX Linux Toolbox packages or from public domain sites like
ucla. simply search google for it.

Advantages any?

We have fuser
Does lsof have any merits over fuser?
