history not working in bash


Hi,
I have installed bash 3 in my IBM AIX 5.1 m/c. Howver 'history' is not working and I do not get anything when I type history.

I have settings like
set -o history
and
set -H

Help pls.

not related to programming. moved to aix forum

"history" is a csh feature.
bash people usually call back the few last command lines.
To obtain the last command line used in bash, simply use the "up arrow".
