AIX Service Pack and Technology Level Package

IBM has changed AIX patching scheme.

Before, the maintenance level patch is just one large .tar.gz file.

Now, the service pack or Technology level packages don't come in a .tar.gz, and they are just a list of filesets instead.

so my question is, where can I get the .tar.gz for the latest service pack or Technology Level packages? Or do they exist after all ?

Thanks in advance

They don't exist anymore. You have to go through IBM's site and register your request for your maintenance pakc. They'll set up a temporary ftp server and you just download a mess of packages into your /usr/sys/inst.images directory. You can minimize the number of packages by uploading the output of the lslpp command so it only makes available the packages you need.
