Can’t restore msysbk data backup from one machine RS/6000 type 7043 mod 140 to another of the same type.
Operating System Aix 4.3.1
They use to restore ok a couple of months ago.
Each machine restores find on the same machine.
Both tape drives have been changed.
Keep Getting media error
Tape cartridges are new

Rather than appending to an old thread you really ought to start a new one so it gets higher visibility. Often the only people that see an old thread (if any) are the ones that previously responded to it.

As some of you suggested the problem was solved by installing the same microcode levels and same part number tape drives on both machines. Basicaly level III Tape drives. Even though the FRU numbers are the same they also needed to be the same part numbers with same microcode level.
