The 4MLinux 37 series.
This thread is for tracking the development of the 4MLinux 37 series.
4MLinux 37.0 Core BETA released.
This is a core system (only about 15 MB in size) for the 4MLinux 37 series. The system includes: the Linux kernel 5.10.27, GNU C Library 2.33, and BusyBox 1.32.1. The 4MLinux 37 series uses GNU Compiler Collection 10.2.0 to compile programs designed for the x86_64 architecture.
Despite its extremely small size, 4MLinux Core supports both BIOS and UEFI boot modes.

4MLinux 37.0 BETA is ready for testing. Basically, at this stage of development, 4MLinux BETA has the same features as 4MLinux STABLE, but it provides a huge number of updated packages.
Road map:
April 2021 -> BETA
July 2021 -> STABLE
November 2021 -> OLD STABLE
March 2022 -> EOL

What's new in 4MLinux 37 BETA
I have had a little more time lately, so (in fact) 4MLinux 37 BETA ships with some new applications:
qBittorrent (Menu > Extensions > NetApps)
HandBrake (Menu > Extensions > MediaApps),
FluidSynth with Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard (Menu > Multimedia > Let's play).
Note:
If you want to make a fresh install of 4MLinux 37 BETA to your HDD, you can do this, but do not run "zk update" command before July, meaning that you will have to wait till 4MLinux 37 STABLE is released.

BakAndImgCD 37.0 released.
BakAndImgCD is an official 4MLinux fork, which has been designed to perform the following two tasks: data backup and disk imaging. The 4MLinux Backup Scripts make use of FSArchiver, GNU ddrescue, Partclone, Partimage, rsync, and other utilities. The output files (archives and images) can be optionally compressed and sent to a remote sever (using Ethernet, WiFi, PPP or PPPoE). This release is based on the 4MLinux Backup Scripts 37.0.

Edit your documents with LibreOffice 7.1.5.1 and GNOME Office (AbiWord 3.0.5, GIMP 2.10.24, Gnumeric 1.12.50), share your files using DropBox 126.4.4618, surf the Internet with Firefox 90.02 and Chromium 90.0.4430.212, send emails via Thunderbird 78.12.0, enjoy your music collection with Audacious 4.1, watch your favorite videos with VLC 3.0.16 and mpv 0.33.0, play games powered by Mesa 21.0.1 and Wine 6.12. You can also setup the 4MLinux LAMP Server (Linux 5.10.47, Apache 2.4.48, MariaDB 10.6.3, PHP 5.6.40 and PHP 7.4.21). Perl 5.32.1, Python 2.7.18, and Python 3.9.1 are also available.
As always, the new major release has some new features. FluidSynth (a software synthesizer) with VMPK (Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard) have been added. Dmidecode (a tool to read hardware-related data from your SMBIOS) has also been included. HandBrake (a video transcoder) and qBittorrent (an advanced BitTorrent client) are now available as downloadable extensions. 4MLinux now uses its own servers for updating the ClamAV virus database. The Linux kernel patched to support the reiser4 file system has been added to the 4MLinux drivers collection.

I'm running 4MLinux in virt-man on Debian 10. I just updated to v37.0 -- no problems at all.

I'm trying a fresh install of v37 in virt-man. I get this error [in attached image]. Is there a fix? Thanks.

It's making a '/dev/vda1' partition in GParted. [see attached image]

Hi,
Unfortunately, 4MLinux does not support vda disks. You may try to change vda to sda in your virt-man settings.

I'm not sure how to do that in virt-man.
In the end, I just copied an external HDD backup of my 4MLinux virtual machine image file to my PC. It boots fine now.
