To tell the truth I have noticed exactly the same problem with my USB modem. The problem occurs only when 4MLinux is run from live CD/USB, meaning that the same USB modem works flawlessly when 4MLinux is installed to a hard disk drive.
Conclusion:
1) If you are going to install 4MLinux to a HDD, the problem will disappear magically :-)
2) If you want to use LiveCD/USB, perhaps somebody else can help us. You should post the contents of the /var/log/usb_modeswitch file(s) here.
thank you for replying to my post. usb modem problems in live cd resolved after I reboot 4mlinux. usb modem must be in the plug before booting 4mlinux live cd.
