Compiling a program under 4MLinux

You'll need the 4MLinux installation CD (or USB, or just ISO image) to install the 4MLinux development packages.

1) Mount the installation CD:
mount /dev/cdrom
2) Copy development packages to your HDD:
mkdir /opt 2>/dev/null
cp -r /media/cdrom/devel /opt/devel
3) Install these packages: Menu > Devel (this will start the /opt/devel/ script).
4) Now you have everything needed to reproduce the 4MLinux you're running.

I've started to write build scripts for the 4MLinux packages (addons). It's work in progress, but many of them are ready. Each script can:
1) download a source tarball,
2) repack the tarball using xz,
3) unpack the tarball,
4) compile a program,
5) build an addon,
6) build a development addon.

For example:
Download files, chmod 755 and run this script in your terminal. This will produce addon_mpv-0.24.0.tar.xz and addon_mpv-devel-0.24.0.tar.xz for you.
