Antivirus startup problem
Hello,
I downloaded the AntivirusLiveCD-40.0-0.105.0 file and installed it on a usb key.
When I start my PC on it, I get the following messages:
Quote:
STAGE 1/3: loading kernel...
STAGE 2/3: loading initrd...
STAGE 3/3: preparing to boot...
Please wait!
|
And my pc is stuck on this last message and doesn't seem to start the antivirus.
I have no idea why it won't start.
Are there log files?
Have you ever encountered this problem and do you have a solution?

I don't know whether there would have been time to log anything if it's choking so early. But, as it's a USB stick, you should be able to mount it and take a look in /var/log.

Hi,
How much RAM does your machine have?
Could you please check if you'll be able to boot this small ISO:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lin...-40.0-core.iso
.

Here is my hardware configuration: - CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX

- RAM: 2x16GB
I have exactly the same behavior with the iso that you asked me to test.

I mounted the USB stick with Windows but I can't find the logs on it.
I also don't have time to get the prompt when I boot from the USB stick.
I don't know how to get the logs.

did you try to boot any other distro? (from live cd). For me it looks like a hardware error (or overclock?).

I tested with the Kali distrib on USB key and it works fine.
I managed to install Ubuntu on my PC from a USB stick and it also works.
I also managed to boot this iso: https://sourceforge.net/projects/ant...rid/hybrid.iso
What is the difference between this iso and this one: https://sourceforge.net/projects/ant....0-0.105.0.iso (which does not work on my PC)?

AntivirusLiveCD-40.0-0.105.0.iso is the latest version. But it works only on CD. You need to use the hybrid version on USB stick.

Congratulations!
It looks that you found a working solution of the problem yourself. Just use the hybridized version of Antivirus Live CD.
.
PS.
The hybridized ISO hosted on sf.net is continuously updated to its latest version, so the link (that you used for downloading) will be always valid.
