AntiVirus Live CD errors

Hi, I've been using ALCD for quite some time now but I'm having errors when trying to run it. I'm trying both the 4MRescueKit-14.0 and AntivirusLiveCD-15.0-0.98.7-db , but both fail when I attempt to do the scan. I get error message:

Code:

clamscan: error while loading shared libraries: libpcre.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
This error only happens after I perform the 3) Update your ClamAV software. If I go straight to the scan without updating, it works fine.

Is this just a clamav problem that cannot be resolved?

Hi...

Welcome to the forum :)

What this error means is that ClamAV is missing libraries files needed to perform the update. If these programs were installed on your hard drive, this would probably be an easy fix but since you're running them live on a CD (I'm guessing,) I'm not sure how you would go about fixing this. This is something that would need to addressed by the developer of the programs you mentioned. :(

You probably should get in contact with them here.

Someone else on this forum may have a solution I'm not aware of.

Regards...

Fixed!
You should now be able to update your software.

Excellent. I have confirmed that it is now fixed.

May I also say, I love the way this thing boots. It makes it incredibly easy to pxe boot. I literally copy the appropriate contents of isolinux.cfg and modify the paths. Very nice software.
