Doing a full scan via antivir command gives you an option on what to do with the infected files.

But I've noticed that doing a manual scan of a file or folder for example via clamscan command only brings up a summary even after an infected file is found.

Is there a way to bring up that option during manual scan?

That's not true. The "antivir" script displays more info on the screen before it starts scanning. This can be one of the following:
1) Location of log file.
2) Location of quarantine.
3) Statement that suspicious files will be deleted.
This depends on the scan option chosen by you.

I had a different exp.

Once I typed in antivir, it gave me an option to update the program and signature db.
After being updated, it asked me what I wanted to do if infected files are found, after choosing it starts to do a full system scan.

That's not true. For example, if you choose to move to quarantine, you should see the following message before the scan starts: "Suspicious files will be moved to /var/clamav/quarantine."

My script is setup for scanning all files. For scanning selected files only, you must refer to the ClamAV documentation (https://www.clamav.net).

I think you have misinterpreted my original post/question in the first place.

Unfortunately, it's not possible. My script is designed for scanning all files. For scanning selected files only, you must refer to the ClamAV documentation (https://www.clamav.net).
