A couple comments:

* We do realize that some polls have nominees that are not directly comparable. There are over 35 polls. If we got down to the granularity some members would like to see, there would be 100's if not 1000's of polls. That would be a net decline in the usefulness of the awards IMHO. We try to strike the best balance we can, and do modify the polls and nominees every year, based on feedback. If you have any suggestions on how the polls can be improved, do let us know.

* There are no set in stone guidelines for voting. Our recommendation is to base your vote on which application you found most valuable to you in 2019, along with which project you feel made the largest improvements in 2019. That being said, in the end the criteria is up to you.

* Posting a comment is optional, but do be aware that for your vote to count you have to select an option and click the "Vote Now" button (regardless of whether you have left a comment or not).

* You must have at least one post to be able to vote.

* All polls will close on February 12th at 12PM LQST.

* Results are not available until after the polls close.

Voted. Even in polls where my suggestions were not added.
The "non-comparability" is a bottleneck in the 2019 LQMCA as well, as long as there are no multiple choices...

The MCA's will be included in the next Community Bulletin.

Just a thought...voting, then repeating your choice In a post adds nothing to the process and clutters the forum, IMO.

Posting so I can vote for my favorite distro

I think if next year or end of this year we could have a voting process up and running for all the LQ members to vote what display manager they use the most that would be nice.

I have used GDM, KDM and LightDM. I like LightDM the most. Because it doesn't take up much resource and loads and executes very fast even when CPU power is not that good. Please kindly don't take any offense, users of other display managers. I have nothing against other display managers. I just like lightdm for simplicity. That is all.
